PRESTON FOX, P.C.
A Family Law Firm Dedicated to Guardian Ad Litem Work in Hampton Roads, Virginia
Lynn Fox, Esquire
Certified Guardian Ad Litem/ Managing Attorney/ Firm Owner
Lynn Fox has been a licensed attorney
for nearly 20 years and a certified guardian ad litem (“GAL”) since 2009.
Immediately preceding founding the Preston Fox law firm in her hometown of Virginia Beach, Ms. Fox previously worked for Hampton Roads firms, concentrating her practice in domestic relations and criminal defense. Lynn particularly enjoyed her work as a certified GAL, advocating on behalf of children in custody as well as abuse and neglect cases. Judges routinely entrusted Attorney Fox to make GAL custody recommendations to the courts, and she was frequently appointed on cases whenever she was present in a courtroom. She was particularly known for her GAL work, with one local judge stating in open court that her GAL reports were the “gold standard.”
She successfully built her practice for a few years before moving to the DC area with her family for career opportunities. While there, she took on challenging cases, and even litigated a complex divorce case that was discussed in the Washington Post.
Throughout her career, Ms. Fox has practiced law with some of the most well-respected attorneys in their practice areas. She started with a top-notch, national complex business litigation firm in Ohio. She worked on multi-million dollar cases representing several of the nation’s leading businesses. She obtained experience in class actions, and she focused on information privacy litigation in state and federal courts located all over the country. Following her own divorce, she moved back to Virginia and changed practice areas in order to help people more directly.
Lynn is a graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law where she was a Presidential Scholarship recipient, Executive Editor for the Law Review, and member of the Moot Court team. She holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Virginia, where she received academic, need-based scholarships. Lynn is admitted to practice law in several federal courts as well as the states of Virginia and Ohio.
Lynn has been married to her husband for over 15 years, and they have two children. She appreciates adventures with their kids, time with friends, her latest favorite show, dining out, travel, good conversation, coffee, wine, and especially enjoys photography.
